Navigational Map Nav Reference 9.0

9.0 Adding a Site Map

As one of the first links and the last link on your pages, place links to the site map.

Try to restrict page size, and create lots of pages. Sometimes this isn't possible, so create a page table of contents at the top of a long page with in-page navigational links to key points in the page. Many reference pages at the W3C are done this way.

The site map link is an example of a link to an anchor in an externally linked page:

      <p class="nav-links">
        <a href="sitemap.html#main-text" title=
        "link to The Site Map">Link to The
        Site Map</a> .
      </p>

The site map is an accessibility feature for all users, it provides a table of contents for your site.
