Navigational Map Nav Reference 6.2

6.2 Do Not Specify Font Sizes

I've found that the font size is inconsistent from browser to browser-- when it's not defined it remains more consistent, also users will then see the text in the size based on their browser text size setting.

The end user is getting more control of presentation all the time, newer browsers are making this easier and easier. Get used to the idea that what we define are only suggestions to the end user, the end user has the ultimate control.

Fighting against this ultimately makes consistency worse instead of better, it is better to realize this and work with it.

Use "strong" for bold important text.

Different levels of h-- h1, h2, h3, etc. are used for titles that need to be relatively sized. Properly placed headings help with navigation and clarity of the page in general for all users.
